About CRIT-SE: Advancing Intensive Care in the South East

CRIT-SE is a trainee-led not for profit bringing together doctors and allied professionals from across Thames Valley, Kent, Surrey & Sussex (KSS), and Wessex deaneries.

Designed and delivered by trainees, the aims are to create a collaborative platform for education, innovation, and networking within Intensive Care Medicine starting with the organisation of this year's inaugural conference.

As a unique blend of like minded individuals our goal is to foster a strong regional community while supporting learning, encouraging research, and connecting individuals with a shared passion for critical care.

This years inaugural conference

We are delighted to invite you to the inaugural Critical Care Residents in Training South East (CRIT-SE) Conference, proudly hosted by Wessex trainees on 17th September 2026 at the iconic Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

Set against the backdrop of one of the UK’s most renowned maritime heritage sites, this landmark event brings together trainees, consultants, and multidisciplinary professionals from across the South East. Our aim is to create a dynamic and inclusive forum for learning, collaboration, and inspiration within critical care.

This year’s programme will showcase high-quality educational sessions, expert-led discussions, and opportunities to connect with colleagues across deaneries. Whether you are early in your training or an established clinician, the conference is designed to foster shared learning, innovation, and professional growth.

As the first CRIT-SE conference, this event marks the beginning of what we hope will become a valued annual tradition—championing the voices and development of trainees while strengthening our regional critical care community.

We look forward to welcoming you to Portsmouth for a day of education, networking, and inspiration.
